Party Time!

For the purpose of this post, party/partying/fete = clubbing.

Maybe I’m old fashioned (or just old) but I like the parties that start at 9pm and finish by 2am. Truth be told, partying has never really appealed to me, the loud music, the insecurity about dancing like the rest of girls getting all the wanted attention, the unwanted attention from sleazeballs, and the over priced drinks just all seemed like more trouble than it was worth.

Don’t get me wrong, I can turn up at the odd party/fete once in a while, but there are some people who think a party isn’t a party unless it ends at sunrise. But why? Is it a measure of adulting? My measure of adulting is knowing I can have a great time at an afternoon party and get home to sleep and function another day.

Considering that some of these party-goers leave at those crazy hours sleep deprived or intoxicate (or both), they are a serious hazard to everyone else on the roads!

What about the people who go to the 10pm parties at 12pm and get mad that the party finishes at 3am. Why do people get to parties late? I’ve been told that they want to arrive when the party is already “on and poppin'” / “lit” / “shelling down”.

Can organisers and DJs be the catalyst to encourage people to get to the fetes earlier? Some kind of greater incentive than “ladies free before 11pm”.

Don’t talk about tryin to pick up someone with more value than a casual fling. Meeting someone in a club/party requires some serious follow through and follow up. Don’t expect that the guy your yelling at the top of your lungs at and him getting super close to you to breathe his hot breath in ur air “means something” on the night. (Maybe that’s just my experience lol)

I’m not even talking about the freshers, the youngsters and the teeney-boppers getting their first taste of freedom. I mean the grown-folk who’ve been at it on the party scene for a few decades and still show up in the clubs every week. All that comes to mind is “Still?”

But, everyone has their vices and preferences, I just don’t like the idea of unnecessary, irresponsible partying.

Be safe out there!

My very first blog experience was when MSN had "Spaces" (long, loonnngggg time ago) and mine was a true reflection of my personality: pink in every customisable option and full of nothingness and nonsense. I created this space to try my hand at writing and sharing what I learn and discover about life, love, and the world in general, with much less pink. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
